About Mint Equity
Mint Equity is a multi-award winning mortgage broker and we've built our reputation as a trusted mortgage broker by drawing on over 23 years of banking experience.
Mint Equity is 100% Australian privately owned and operated. Our business is finance and we do not hold any partnerships with other property or related services, ensuring we don’t have conflicts of interest – a critical component for our clients who expect a high standard of service without compromise.
What we do
We are the conduit between the home loan lenders and home, and business owners sourcing mortgages and finance. We’re with our clients every step of the way - from concept planning and initial thoughts, through the application process to settlement and beyond.
Our team streamlines the lending process to remove the pain points for our clients. It’s our experience, having worked for the banks, that gives us the edge in sourcing the right finance for our clients.
Our services are far-reaching and free of charge
We don’t charge any fees for our services as we are remunerated by the lender you choose once the loan reaches settlement.
We provide flexible options for our clients, whether it be meeting face-to-face at your home, office, or a café, via email or over the phone. Our priority is to make the finance process as easy as possible for our clients, so we’ll work around your commitments to find a time to chat.
Location isn’t an issue for us and we’re able to service local, interstate, and clients residing overseas. Technology plays a big part in our business and for those who are interstate or overseas, we utilise Skype and mobile or branch identification services to ensure we meet our compliance requirements without inconveniencing our clients.
Zac has been our banker/mortgage broker for the last five years. We’ve never met such a dedicated, intelligent, wonderful, efficient, hardworking and positive person. He helped us over the years to obtain finance in challenging times. And due to his efforts we now have our dream home.
We highly recommend him and his wonderful team at Mint Equity.
Meet the Mint Equity team
Zac Peteh
Director, Finance Broker
Zac’s been in the finance game for over 20 years working at NAB, Suncorp, Citibank and St George. He thrives on the complex deals, quite often the ‘go to’ person for his previous colleagues and business partners.
Zac started his finance career in 1995 and spent almost 10 years with Citibank starting out as a Lending Officer and Credit Analyst. It’s this experience that sets the groundwork for his understanding of the credit process, which is essential to getting your loan approved.
From working in credit, Zac moved into commercial and residential mortgages firming up his knowledge of business finance and commercial property loans.
When the GFC hit, Zac was working in commercial and residential mortgages and saw the impact the GFC had on the Sydney and Central Coast property market.
He joined NAB in 2009 as a Business Banking Manager and continued to build his knowledge in business loans and SMSF loans. Just before leaving NAB to start his own mortgage broker business, Zac was a mobile banker focusing on residential home loans for owner occupiers and property investors.
To deal with, he’s down to earth and an all round good guy. And he’ll look out for you like you’re family.
On a personal note, Zac loves his cricket (left arm fast bowler), is married to Leigh, co-owner of Mint Equity and his fur-baby is Sami the Japanese Spitz.
Zac grew up in Sydney and Brisbane, but has now made the move to the Central Coast. You’ll often see him down at Ocean Beach or Putty Beach taking Sami for a run.
Leigh Peteh
Director, Marketing & Communications
With a background in business management and client services, Leigh manages the operations, strategy, marketing and communications for Mint Equity. Knowing that finance isn’t front of mind for everyone, she has a passion for taking the complexity out of finance.
Leigh has a strong interest in all things property including development, renovations and investments, so starting Mint Equity with Zac was an easy decision.
Originally a Sydney girl from the Northern Beaches, she’s now based on the Central Coast and loves cooking for her family and friends.

We support the Animal Welfare League NSW
The Mint Equity team loves it when our Directors’ dog Sami comes into the office. His smiling face and enthusiasm for a tennis ball is truly heart-warming.
But not all animals have the same great life as Sami does. So, each year we donate a portion of our profits to the Animal Welfare League NSW to help them continue their great work caring for abandoned, surrendered and neglected animals.
If you’d like to help the Animal Welfare League NSW, please visit their website and find out how you can get involved.
Our services
Our diverse experience means clients need only deal with one person for residential, commercial and SMSF lending, not multiple brokers or bankers for each different loan.
Our lenders
We work with the big four banks and multiple second tier home loan lenders to provide a vast portfolio of products for our clients.
A study commissioned by the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) found that customers who sourced their home loan through a mortgage broker were more satisfied with their experience than customers who went direct to a lender. To learn more, read our article Mortgage broker customers more satisfied than direct to lender customers.
Working closely with the major banks and second tier lenders has enable us to secure priority status with several financial institutions, enabling us to fast-track home loan applications for our clients.
What do home loan lenders look for?
Each lender has different application requirements, ever changing policy and risk appetites so it pays to work with an experienced mortgage broker to find the right fit. Every borrower is equally as different and there are many contributing factors to selecting the right home loan lender.
The consistent element across every lender is the risk level of the applicant, and that is generally best reflected in the “Three C’s” – Character, Capacity and Collateral.
Character – a borrower’s credit rating, history and employment status
Capacity – a borrower’s income and ability to repay the loan, taking into account living expenses and dependants
Collateral – a borrower’s savings/deposit and the property the loan will be leveraged against
Mint Equity have always been very thorough and professional with our business. At the end of the day it’s all about getting the job done and that is where Zac is head and shoulders above the rest.
We would highly recommend the services of Mint Equity and have referred friends and family to them.
