Kickstarting the weekend with a little pool inspiration. Loving the greenery and lounger overhanging the pool’s edge. When designing your pool area, don’t forget to think about how your pool will look at night time. Consider in-pool lighting, softening hard structures with greenery and soft furnishings. Don’t forget the sound of a bubbler or water feature can be a great way to get more out of your pool in the cooler months.

Many will rejoice in the fact that there are now far fewer suburbs with a price tag of at least $1 million. Sydney property prices were absolutely out of control, so the correction is very much welcome.

So, is it easier to get into the Sydney property market now?

We can’t take the credit for this gem but thought we would share it with you as I think we all need a good laugh! ***Breaking News***: Commission Hayne has released his findings from the RC into the price of milk at major supermarkets. “Cows are obviously the issue and can’t be trusted” concluded Hayne. “I agree with the big supermarkets that clearly the best client outcome is for customers to get up at 5am to milk the cows and bring the milk to the supermarkets themselves”. He further criticised the current structure of supermarkets paying conflicted remuneration to greedy farmers which adds to the costs of milk. Hayne stated that “it is my expert opinion that farmers do nothing more than watch the cows eat grass and this is confirmed in the thorough and unbiased research provided by both Coles and Woolworths”. Hayne further recommended that by concentrating on only milking 4 cows that competition would be guaranteed and that smaller supermarkets could easily survive and provide competition by focusing on the sale of almond milk.
Milk prices are predicted to rise July 2020 as a result of increased supermarket costs to offset the large bonuses paid to senior management following the removal of payments to farmers. “It’s a positive outcome for consumers and the Government should act on all recommendations immediately” said one supermarket CEO.

Woolworths and Coles shares closed 6% higher with nothing suspicious noted by many highly qualified media commentators. “I don’t drink milk but I sat next to someone in first class that visited an olive farm as a kid so I know what I’m talking about” said one Sydney newspaper economist who agreed with the RC findings.

Are we ok? This week, mortgage brokers across Australia were coward-punched by Kenneth Hayne and the government. In the next few weeks, the frustration, disappointment and sadness will slowly disappear, and the fighter will return, ready to step back into the ring. We’re not going anywhere because consumers need us.
Consumers are the ones who will suffer as changes are implemented to our industry. Talk to your local MP, tell your friends and family about your mortgage broker, refer them business, comment on social media articles that misrepresent mortgage brokers, participate in broker surveys, speak up and shout from the roof tops that consumers need choice and shouldn’t have to pay for it. Hopefully, someone in government will hear you and us.
