About Mint Equity

Mint Equity is a multi-award winning mortgage broker and we've built our reputation as a trusted mortgage broker by drawing on decades of banking experience.

Mint Equity is 100% Australian privately owned and operated. Our business is finance and we do not hold any partnerships with other property or related services, ensuring we don’t have conflicts of interest – a critical component for our clients who expect a high standard of service without compromise.

What we do

We are the conduit between the home loan lenders and home, and business owners sourcing mortgages and finance. We’re with our clients every step of the way - from concept planning and initial thoughts, through the application process to settlement and beyond.

Our team streamlines the lending process to remove the pain points for our clients. It’s our experience, having worked for the banks, that gives us the edge in sourcing the right finance for our clients.

Our services are far-reaching and free of charge

We don’t charge any fees for our services as we are remunerated by the lender you choose once the loan reaches settlement.

We provide flexible options for our clients, whether it be meeting face-to-face at your home, office, or a café, via email or over the phone. Our priority is to make the finance process as easy as possible for our clients, so we’ll work around your commitments to find a time to chat.

Location isn’t an issue for us and we’re able to service local, interstate, and clients residing overseas. Technology plays a big part in our business and for those who are interstate or overseas, we utilise Skype and mobile or branch identification services to ensure we meet our compliance requirements without inconveniencing our clients.

Zac has been our banker/mortgage broker for the last five years. We’ve never met such a dedicated, intelligent, wonderful, efficient, hardworking and positive person. He helped us over the years to obtain finance in challenging times. And due to his efforts we now have our dream home.
We highly recommend him and his wonderful team at Mint Equity.

Meet the Mint Equity team

Zac Peteh

Director, Finance Broker

Credit Representative Number 461463 is authorised under Australian Credit Licence Number 389328.

With over 20 years of experience in the finance industry, Zac has established himself as a seasoned professional. Throughout his career, he has held positions at reputable institutions such as NAB, Suncorp, Citibank, and St George. Zac's expertise lies in navigating complex deals, making him a go-to resource for his former colleagues and business partners.

Zac embarked on his finance journey in 1995, starting at Citibank as a Lending Officer and Credit Analyst. It was during this time that he developed a solid foundation in understanding the credit process, a crucial aspect in securing loan approvals.

Transitioning from credit roles, Zac delved into commercial and residential mortgages, expanding his knowledge of business finance and commercial property loans. In 2009, Zac joined NAB as a Business Banking Manager, where he further honed his expertise in business loans and self-managed super fund (SMSF) loans. Prior to venturing into his own mortgage broker business, Zac served as a mobile banker at NAB, specialising in residential home loans for both owner occupiers and property investors.

Beyond his professional capabilities, Zac is known for his down-to-earth nature and genuine care for his clients, treating them like family. On a personal level, he has a passion for cricket, having played as a left-arm fast bowler. Zac is happily married to Leigh, who co-owns Mint Equity with him, and they share their lives with their beloved Japanese Spitz, Sami.

Having grown up in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Zac moved to Brisbane at the age of 8 before returning to Sydney's Northern Beaches at 21. In 2013, Zac and Leigh made the move to the Central Coast, and they now split their time between the Central Coast and the Gold Coast. As Mint Equity expands its presence into Queensland in 2023, Zac remains dedicated to serving clients while enjoying the coastal lifestyle, often spotted at Terrigal, Main Beach, or Broadbeach, accompanied by Sami for a run.

Leigh Peteh

Director, Marketing & Communications

Leigh is a skilled professional with a strong background in business management and client services. In her role, she effectively oversees marketing, communications, operations, and the overall strategy of the business. With a diverse career spanning various industries such as real estate, advertising, recruitment, and corporate initiatives for an international ASX listed company, Leigh brings a wealth of experience to her current position.

When Zac made the decision to pursue a career as a mortgage broker, it was Leigh who advocated for establishing an independent mortgage broker business instead of joining an existing franchise. While working full-time for a multinational organization in Chatswood, Leigh dedicated her efforts to building the framework, core values, systems, and processes that laid the foundation for Mint Equity. As the business grew, it quickly became evident that Mint Equity required Leigh's full-time commitment. Consequently, she transitioned from her corporate role to join Zac in the business venture.

Recognising that finance can be a daunting subject for many, Leigh is passionate about simplifying the complexities of finance. She combines her knowledge of finance and property to help clients understand the relationship between property debt and equity growth. Leigh's own property journey began at the age of 22 when she and Zac purchased their first apartment on the Northern Beaches. Throughout the years, Leigh has actively managed their property portfolio, taking charge of renovations and property resale. Understanding that finance may not captivate everyone's interest, she believes in making the entire process as engaging as possible by highlighting the fascinating connection between finance and property.

Leigh was born and raised on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In 2013, she and Zac relocated to the Central Coast, and now they split their time between the Central Coast and the Gold Coast. As Mint Equity expands its presence into Queensland in 2023, Leigh continues to play an integral role in the company's growth and success.
