New secure client portal for submitting your supporting documents

One of the irritations of a home loan application is preparing and sending all the supporting documentation that the lender requests. Payslips, drivers’ licences, bank account statements all contain highly confidential information, so it’s important that we continue to ensure your data is safe.

Rather than sending multiple emails, which if you mistype the email address, could be sent to the wrong person, we’ve implemented a file collection portal called FileInvite to ensure your files come directly to us.

This portal uses the same encryption technology used by banks. Any information sent or uploaded uses a secure, SSL/HTTPS connection, and all files are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Every file is automatically encrypted when stored as well as during upload. The whole system is audited by independent security professionals on a regular basis.

Client benefits when using FileInvite

  • Your data is secure using the same encryption technology as the banks
  • Data sent through this portal is more secure than emailing the files directly
  • You can see the full list of required documents and what items are still outstanding
  • You’ll be notified when an uploaded document has been accepted or if it doesn’t meet the lender’s requirements
  • Upload files directly from your computer’s hard drive
  • Include a message or more information in each item’s notes section
  • You don’t have to upload everything at once and can return to the portal and upload at anytime
  • You don’t need to remember a password, your link is customised to you
  • The secure portal is read only, so as soon as you leave the portal the files are locked
  • If you only have hard copy files, you still have the option to post them to us
  • You don’t need to send loads of emails with multiple attachments – and receive multiple email responses from us!

Easy to use client portal

When you receive your personalised link, you’ll be able to see all the documents that are required. Each document request gives you the ability to upload one or multiple files and type a note, should you need to explain something about the document.

We provide a full description to help you provide the correct documentation that meets the lender’s requirements, so you don’t have to resubmit files later on.

Once you click save, the files are uploaded and locked. If you forgot to upload something or have a question, you can send us a message directly through the portal.

Read only portal ensures your files are secure

Even if you refresh the portal page while you are still on it the files are locked. Think of it like posting a letter; as soon as you let go of the envelope you can’t access it any longer, and it is secure. Only individuals with the appropriate authority can access it after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still email you my supporting documents?

With any new system, it takes a little bit of time to change old habits. Our preference is for all our clients to use FileInvite as the file transfer method rather than emails, as it’s safer for you and it will save us time collating your documents, resulting in a faster turnaround time. For the last 4 years, our email inboxes have copped a lot of punishment from supporting documents, so FileInvite will make us even more efficient for our clients.

How do I upload a document?

To upload a file, click on each individual request listed under the requests page. This will open up showing more information about each request and show an upload button. Click on the upload button then select the file(s) you wish to send to Mint Equity. When you have finished uploading, you can either click I’m Finished, or come back later to pick up where you left off.

How secure are my files?

This portal uses the same encryption technology used by banks. Any information sent or uploaded uses a secure, SSL/HTTPS connection, and all files are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Every file is automatically encrypted when stored as well as during upload. The whole system is audited by independent security professionals on a regular basis.

Why is there no password?

This secure portal is designed to be read only. As soon as you leave the portal the files are locked. Even if you refresh the portal page while you are still on it the files are locked. Think of it like posting a letter; as soon as you let go of the envelope you can’t access it any longer, and it is secure. Only individuals with the appropriate authority can access it after that.

What happens after my files are uploaded?

Once you have finished, all the information will be sent to Mint Equity, and we review and check off the information. If anything needs to be changed, you will be notified and can come back and upload new information.

How do I contact you through the portal?

The contact details for your broker are under the contact tab on the left, and if you have any questions throughout the process you can click on the questions link on the left, and your query will go straight to your broker to answer it for you.

Why did I receive a reminder?

To fast track your application, we’ve set a due date for the documentation and you’ll be sent a reminder email closer to the due date. We need all the information requested to start your application review, so the quicker you can get the information to us, the quicker we can start harassing the banks for you.

I deleted the FileInvite email with the portal link, how do I get another link?

Just send us an email or SMS your broker and we’ll press the button to resend the FileInvite invitation. Too easy!

Why are you sending me a second invitation for more documents?

As we progress through the application process, we may need additional supporting documentation, however we’ll start with the essential information now to minimise your workload. Our job is to minimise your workload, so we’ll only ever ask for the essential information, but sometimes, lenders change their credit policies and request further information. That’s when we’ll send you the same link, but we’ll add new document requests to complete your application.
